Modeling Columbo TOP New 1/35 Columbo Peugeot403 BACK to TOP

Base
I chose TAMIYA "Military Minitures(MM)" 1/35 Famous Generals Set. (No. MM118)
This kit contains 5 popular Generals of WWII, General Patton, Eisenhower, MacArthur, Montgomery, and Rommel. "Rommel" is good for making Columbo's body because of his coat.
I used some parts from other kits of the MM series.

Remodeling
Cut Rommel's long coat(and legs) off with a cutter. The left part of the image is the back of the coat. Also cut it fit the front part. To heat the blade makes it easy.

Remove molds of the coat except for the collar with a file and put Montgomery's legs to the body.

Applying and filing putty, shape the body and face like Columbo.

<--- with Eisenhower.
Is my "Columbo" too short?

Make hair, collar, buttons, tie, wrinkles of the clothes with diluted putty. It is convenient to use paint brushes to do this.

Put arms to the body. I used Montgomery's left arm. The right from other TAMIYA kit.
I didn't put the right hand yet because it made difficult to paint the face.

Paint

After painting the face, put together the right hand holding a cigar.
<--- Too glossy!
So I painted TAMIYA enamel color, "CLEAR" with "FLAT BASE", after taking this picture.
See images in "Oscar?" It is not glossy.
A Cigar, made from a thin lod.

.
Oscar?

Did Peter Falk win Academy Award?
...No, sorry, it is C-3PO.
I made C-3PO and R2-D2 for my "Millenium Falcon" kit before.
C-3PO was made by remodeling 1/72 German soldier figure. His partner, R2-D2, from scratch.

How small they are!
